New Jersey Moves Bill to Automate Medical Tracking & Surveillance of Adult Vaccine Data
**Bill s3240 passed the Senate Health Committee, NOW WHAT NJ?!?**
New Jersey Public Health Innovation Political Action Committee (NJPHIPAC) in collaboration with Innovative Parenting NJ will be hosting a private information session on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 to discuss the New Jersey Immunization Information System (NJIIS), a lifespan registry that tracks all vaccine doses administered to NJ children and the implications of the passing of bill S3240 in the Senate Health Committee on December 15, 2022.
The scope of this webinar includes:
- Review of the NJ Legislative process: how a bill becomes law
- Clarity on where bill S3240 and it’s partner bill A4112 will be heard and voted on next
- How we can act now to educate and inform why bill S3240/A4112 should be opposed in the NJ state legislature
- How to unenroll your child(ren) from the NJIIS
We will also discuss the current uses of the New Jersey Immunization Information System (NJIIS) and the entities and individuals that have access to your child’s private medical information. Since 2004, all children born in New Jersey, on or after January 1,1998, are automatically enrolled through electronic birth certificates into the NJIIS.
New Jersey parents should be asking themselves these questions and be armed with accurate information to control who has access to this private information:
- Do you want your child’s private medical information uploaded to this database unbeknownst to you?
- Do you want various state agencies to be able to access your child’s medical status?
- Should private medical information be put into a database without prior written consent from a minor’s parent or guardian? Consent should always be obtained and never assumed.
- Should NJ children be tracked by the government allowing medical records to be shared across systems and stored in various databases automatically without parental consent?
Knowledge is Power!
We look forward to hosting this event, sharing what we know and empowering New Jersey residents to take action– see you on January 4th!
